Honduras is a multicultural country. The ethnic composition of Honduras would be as follows: 1% White, 2% Black Garifuna 6% indigenous and the rest of the population is mainly a combination.
Some tradition of Honduras
1) The employer of Honduras is the Virgin of Suyapa, Feb. 3 is the day, and many people make the "demands" that are making requests to the virgin and if they do meet these promises, eg stop smoking etc. . 2) On December 31, the call is made "Old Year" is a doll made of old clothes stuffed with newspaper and also fireworks and lights at midnight and represents the past year.
3) There is also a lot of oral tradition. In my grandfather's time they were doing the famous "fogatas" people gathered to tell stories more clearly Honduran fear, such as "the Dirty" is a woman (Ghost) that appears in the ravines and draws men who walk in the spree. We have to Cadejo it's a dog, there is one white and one black. Has legs backwards (ie to not follow the trail) If you want to hear these stories have a radio program called Tales and Legends of Honduras, and you can find a couple of stories in the Ares P2P or some other
4) We call "Pumps" are rhymes that are almost always compliments for women, unfortunately I do not recall at this time.
5) The Guancasco, is an ancient Indian tradition. It's kind of encounter between two peoples (then neighboring tribes) and meant the brotherhood and peace between two peoples. Was received by representatives of the people friend and does a great festival and make the guest feel at home.
Honduras is a rich country in culture and have a specific rhythm that they dance named PUNTA.
