Torque

What is a torque?
a force that produces or tends to produce rotation or torsion
In our physics class we are learning what is a torque, how work, and  how we can use it's formula.
To have a good idea of a torque we did a small lab we can said. We use a lever, a ruler, metric masses.
We balanced the ruler we put a clip also to have the  balanced quickly as we can see in the picture
With the ruler balanced we put to metric masses in knife - edge clamps that they were in the corners of the ruler we balanced again the ruler and we saw that they weren't balanced we move a little the knife-edge clamps.

With the ruler already balanced, we started getting all the data.

With this data, we resolve to obtain the torque of the 2 masses and we have a close answer, but we are continue learning how to work with torque.
The SI unit for torque is the newton metre (N·m).
But we are not finish learning about torque continue with the lesson of torque we make 3 little test or 3 excercise to know more about it, but we can said that also our class have a lot of fun with that excercies
In this video we can see that we are working with the  merry go round and we can ask but how it's apply torque in here in a merry go round we need torque because there is a force that produces rotation. We needed that force to move the merry go round and we needed to maintan the body straight and then ti bring the body to the center.

But you think that we are done with this? No, we are not done we saw a wheel and a rotating board let me tell that it's was so funny also one of my classmate fell down with these experiment we have to spin the wheel and with the force of the spin of the wheel we move. We have to move the wheel to move more. We noticed that here we get used of angular momentum. An angular momentum, Just as an external force changes the total linear momentum of a system of particles, an external torque changes the angular momentum of a rigid body.

We are almost done with this exhausted day that we had in Physics but to end what we did?
We saw how a gyroscope work and was so cool, because alse we remeber our childhood it's similar to a beyblade and some girls and boys play. gyroscope is a device for measuring or maintaining orientation, based on the principles of angular momentum, and  represents the product of body's inertia and  velocity

Cart

To make our Physics class interesting  and to learn more we took a cart the last Wednesday 20/ 2013
With that cart we want to apply the second law of motion, as we know that the  second law states that the acceleration of an object is dependent upon two variables - the net force acting upon the object and the mass of the object.
The mass of our cart was 273.1 g

Then we tried to measured the force, we used a special tool named Spring Scale with this tool we have to  pulled the kart to measured the force, were vere accurate with the measured. We repeated this 3 times with different mass.

Then we recorded our 3 trials that we did and we obtain differents results but similar, we already have the force and the mass so we isolate for acceleration and we obtain acceleration. We can observed in this table
Trials
Force
Mass
Acceleration
Trial1
2.8 N
1.23 kg
2.26 m/s
Trial2
3.7N
1.73 kg
2.13 m/s
Trial3
4N
1.93 kg
2.06 m/s

Data: the accelaration is meters per second square

Special Event

Special Event

The hole country  together in a special event.
About 8 million of people were togther in a same feeling and thought.
We have a week waiting for this game, as we know all the football games are important for a soccer team. Waiting, Waiting, Waiting .... until today March 22, 2013 Friday.
Mexico's team came to play againts Honduras  for 3 points in hexagonal. Mexico's team came yesterday, and they was with a confidence that they would won the play and it was only a simple game not an important game.
We were nervous because Mexico brought a good team, so we have to be smart in the game and exploit the weak points of the team.
The game was about to start and the stadium was full of Hondurans.
Our record was that never in house Mexican players can win us. Since 1993 was the last time that Mexico won in Honduras.
The game started, and the first 15 minutes we only saw opportunities for both teams. But we received surprises in minute 28 when Chicharito opened the scoring with 1 goal, in minute 54 Chicharito put another goal and the scoring was 2-0 for Mexico.
We were sad all Honduras because we were losing the game, but we don't lost the faith and in minute 77 Carlos Costly did a goal that opened the scoring from Honduras we were 2-1 but we were missing another goal to tie to Mexico 4 minutes later Jerry Bengston did another goal and with that goal we were tie with Mexico 2-2.
Our story continues that we don't lose in house. That game joing 8 million of people here in Honduras. If Honduras lose, win or tie always be with Honduras Team.
Know we have to win against Panama

A Part of Physics in our Life

Three Law of Newton.
First Law
1. Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it.
Second Law
2. The relationship between an object's mass m, its acceleration a. In this law the direction of the force vector is the same as the direction of the acceleration vector.
Third Law
3For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
You could ask, in what we can use the three Law's of Newton in our life.
In our physics class, we did a dance pad in which we  apply the three Laws of Newton without
realizing.
   (cfgt.net )

The first law of newton is that every object its at rest, so we apply the first one when we where waiting for  us as the game began. In that moment we apply the first law until there isn't any object that  come to move us.

The second law of newton we apply this but know exactly how it's. But we apply because we have an acceleration in our jumps or movements, and the mass of our body  that complete the formula  that is F=ma.

Third law of newton we apply this law. How?
Because in every Jump that we did, there is a reaction that brings us down to earth that is gravity. So, in every action there is a reaction.

As we can see we apply the three law of motion, in this dance pad. So, that means that we apply physics in our life.

Traditions of Honduras

Honduras is a republic in Central America. It was at times referred to as Spanish Honduras to differentiate it from British Honduras, which became the modern-day state of Belize. The country is bordered to the west by Guatemala, to the southwest by El Salvador, to the southeast by Nicaragua, to the south by the Pacific Ocean at the Gulf of Fonseca, and to the north by the Gulf of Honduras, a large inlet of the Caribbean Sea.

Honduras  is a multicultural country. The ethnic composition of Honduras would be as follows: 1% White, 2% Black Garifuna 6% indigenous and the rest of the population is mainly a combination.
Some tradition of Honduras
1) The employer of Honduras is the Virgin of Suyapa, Feb. 3 is the day, and many people make the "demands" that are making requests to the virgin and if they do meet these promises, eg stop smoking etc. .  2) On December 31, the call is made "Old Year" is a doll made of old clothes stuffed with newspaper and also fireworks and lights at midnight and represents the past year.
3) There is also a lot of oral tradition. In my grandfather's time they were doing the famous "fogatas" people gathered to tell stories more clearly Honduran fear, such as "the Dirty" is a woman (Ghost) that appears in the ravines and draws men who walk in the spree. We have to Cadejo it's a dog, there is one white and one black. Has legs backwards (ie to not follow the trail) If you want to hear these stories have a radio program called Tales and Legends of Honduras, and you can find a couple of stories in the Ares P2P or some other
4) We call "Pumps" are rhymes that are almost always compliments for women, unfortunately I do not recall at this time.
5) The Guancasco, is an ancient Indian tradition. It's kind of encounter between two peoples (then neighboring tribes) and meant the brotherhood and peace between two peoples. Was received by representatives of the people friend and does a great festival and make the guest feel at home.

Honduras is a rich country in culture and have a specific rhythm that  they dance named PUNTA.
